I hadn't actually heard of these before, then I went home and asked my kids if they had heard of them, they hadn't so I was able to tell them something about technology for a change! I think it is a useful tool, you just have to remember to log onto it each day. It's good though to see all the headlines without having to go to different sites looking for it all the time. Something that I will probably use in the future.

Technology!!!!!!

Well I have now had a look at Flickr, it looks good although I didn't want to put any photo's on there at the moment although it may be a good place to store photo's for my friends interstate and overseas to keep them up to date. I had a go at that Gizmo site on friday afternoon and I was tripping the light fantastic with Nicholas Cage then the computer restarted and I lost it so I decided not to do it again. I have been thinking about something to post about Technology and I was thinking that even though we now have a library blog, it is mainly about happenings in Callaghan, maybe we should keep up with the students and maybe have a Myspace or Facebook site, that way maybe we could get more comments on things about the library and what is boring or what is working, as I think the students would be more inclined to post on something like that than to have to go through the process of putting a suggestion on the Newcat site. Anyway just a thought.....

7 1/2 habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners

I found this podcast quite good, although didn't like the persons voice! I've probably never thought of myself as a life long learner, its one of those things that you just take for granted. The hardest point for me was number 2, asking for help, I have always found this hard I hate having to ask for help. The easiest for me would be number 6 the technology as I like experimenting with different things, and keeping up to date with what is new, that way I have a vague idea of what my kids are talking about.

The Holidays

I have been back at work 2 days, now I am off again until Monday next week. We really haven't done a great deal, just relaxed caught up with some DVD's and TV shows we had taped, and we went shopping a fair bit. Ashleigh's 18th birthday has already been and gone now it went well, everyone seemed to have a good time. It was very loud, Singstar started about 7:30pm and went till about midnight when we told them they had to keep the noise down. The last person left about 1pm the next day, we thought they were never going to leave! Our niece came down from Brisbane for the night, she left Sunday night, Ashleigh's best friend who moved up to Qld 2 years ago also came down for it, but she is staying with us for 2 weeks which is good. The Mariners are playing at home this weekend, so that is where we will be on Saturday night, should be a good game, we are on top of the ladder at the moment with 2 games to go, and only lead by 1 point, so it is going to come down to the last game to see who will be top.

First Blog

Here is my first attempt at making a blog! The first hurdle I came to was what to name it! I couldn't think of anything, hence the name of my blog is "I don't know!" Once I got into it I found it fun to do, you can do so much on it!
